Outreach


Food Pantry

Mission: To respond to the needs of people within the parish and to the community at large by supplying food and necessities throughout the year. Food baskets are also prepared each year through the efforts of this ministry with the support of the entire parish family.


Meals and Home Assistance

Mission: To provide families with assistance during times of need due to illness or a death. Meals are prepared and delivered to the homes. Light chores, grocery shopping, and company are offered by the caregivers of this ministry.


Clothing

Mission: To give a helping hand to individuals or families who, due to hardships, are unable to provide for themselves. Clothes are collected at specific times of the year and distributed as needs are presented.


Rosary Makers

Facilitator: Mandy Gil & Pam Contreri

Mission: Our Lady asked the children of Fatima to pray the rosary, therefore our ministry's mission is to help spread the message of Mary's request. We do this by making and distributing rosary beads to missions all over the world, and for use in our parish. They are made for the children in our fifth grade Religious Education program, our first communicants, the young people going on the Antioch retreat before Confirmation, the men's retreat and for the sick..


Community Connections

Social Justice

Mission: To provide information on local, state, and national justice issues and to help facilitate contact of appropriate representatives through telephone, letter writing campaigns, etc.


Council of Catholic Women

Mission: To participate in the events and activities associated with the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.


Habitat for Humanity

Mission: To construct and repair homes for families on a need basis. Habitat for Humanity is a nationally sponsored organization.


Blood Donor

Mission: To participate in local blood drives as a donor or volunteer worker.


County Service Volunteers

Mission: To provide current resource information regarding opportunities to help in community and county-sponsored service organizations.


Harvest House

Mission: Volunteers to prepare and serve a nutritious lunch Monday through Friday at the First Baptist Church in Sussex. Time commitment is 4-5 hours per month.


Interfaith Hospitality Network

Mission: Volunteers to help people who find themselves temporarily displaced by providing meals to the host parish.


Coupon Shopping Network

Mission: To help collect and sort coupons.


Knights of Columbus

Mission: A Catholic fraternal organization of men who work to help the homeless, the hungry and the needy. Membership by application.


Columbiettes

Mission: Women's Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. Membership by application.


Midnight Run

Facilitator: Margaret Fortune

Mission: Travel into New York City at least twice a year, to service the homeless by providing seasonal clothing, food and fellowship.
